Sylantro Enables Hosted Voice Apps on Amazon EC2
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 15 -- Sylantro Systems, the leading provider of multiplay application feature servers for converged communication applications, today announced compatibility of its Synergy platform with the Amazon Web Services’ Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). By placing its Synergy platform and Synapps Web Services on Amazon EC2, Sylantro makes its voice and Web applications available in a cloud computing environment.
Amazon EC2 from Amazon Web Services is a Web service that provides hosted, resizable compute capacity on a pay-as-you-go basis. It is designed to make Web-scale computing easier and can be helpful for capital constrained developers and entrepreneurs looking to build applications or start up new services. Amazon EC2 is a platform of infrastructure services provided by Amazon Web Services. The introduction of telephony into the cloud provides even more options for users.
Sylantro’s Synergy platform is a proven carrier-grade feature server platform that is deployed at more than 95 key service providers worldwide. Sylantro’s Synapps Web Services layer already exposes rich APIs for developing powerful voice applications and incorporates simplified billing, provisioning and application tracking capabilities. By offering this platform in the Amazon cloud, Sylantro minimizes a significant CAPEX, procurement and deployment barrier to launching new IP Communication Services. The cloud based offering could be utilized by service providers for hosting developer sandboxes, try and buy services, full blown hosted services or as an alternative disaster recovery site.
“Amazon Web Services provides a cost-effective infrastructure to deploy highly scalable and dependable solutions,” said Steve Rabuchin, director of developer relations and business development for Amazon Web Services. ”We’re pleased that Sylantro is utilizing Amazon Web Services to extend greater options to their customers.”
“For our customers, especially new and incumbent IP Communications service providers, capital expenditure on hardware and the associated planning, procurement and deployment cycles can be challenging,” said Marco Limena, CEO of Sylantro. “By working with Amazon Web Services, Sylantro eliminates one more hurdle towards the rapid deployment of communication services.”
