Surgient Webinar to Discuss Internal Versus External Cloud Computing
Webinar to Educate Attendees on Cloud Computing Benefits and Pitfalls
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Surgient, the visionary and market leader of self-service virtualization automation and lab management, today announced a Webinar, “Internal vs. External Clouds: Issues and Decisions Facing IT Ops.” Scheduled for Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. ET and featuring Surgient Chief Technology Officer Dave Malcolm, the Webinar will discuss the opportunities and pitfalls surrounding both external and internal enterprise cloud computing environments.
Industry analysts predict that cloud computing and the delivery of hosted applications will dominate the enterprise in 2009. These cloud computing solutions empower users with control of their own projects and timelines. However, there are several drawbacks, including concerns around data security, limited functionality and stability. Most cloud computing solutions don’t provide a full self-service experience as they require too much technical knowledge and cannot handle the breadth of needs for enterprise users.
There is also a growing uncertainty around whether companies should have an internal or external cloud. This Webinar will explore how organizations can offer the self-service internal cloud, enabling users to utilize the full value of cloud computing, without the concerns inherent in an external cloud. Webinar attendees will learn:
- The advantages to leveraging internal resources to create an internal enterprise cloud;
- The benefits of offering a fully self-service model for providing computing resources across the enterprise; and
- Best practices and approaches for offering a self-service internal cloud.
