SNW Names Clackamas County a Winner in its Fall 2010 “Best Practices” Awards Program

Clackamas County recognized by SNW for excellence in next generation storage and IT management technology

SEATTLE, OCTOBER 19, 2010 @PR2WEB F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking (ADN), today announced that SNW has named Clackamas County of the Portland, Oregon, metro area as a winner in its Fall 2010 “Best Practices” Awards Program in the category of “Planning, Designing, and Building a Next Generation Storage and Server Infrastructure.” SNW’s “Best Practices” Awards Program identifies and acknowledges excellence among users of IT management solutions and approaches.

Clackamas County used the F5® ARX® solution to minimize rising data storage costs and manage data more efficiently. By implementing a new, more flexible storage strategy, Clackamas County was able to reclaim 85 percent of its high performance disk capacity, scale from 50 TB to 100 TB without increasing its storage budget, and move 90 percent of file data to deduplicated storage, deferring purchase of high capacity storage systems.

“Data growth is creating tremendous challenges for organizations of all sizes,” said Nigel Burmeister, Director of Product Marketing at F5 Networks. “We’re thrilled that Clackamas County has won this award, demonstrating that with ARX, it’s possible for organizations to simplify their data management, reduce costs, and improve business agility and efficiency at the same time.”

"Innovative systems and strategies focused on data protection, energy efficiency, virtualization, and cloud computing are redefining IT infrastructure management,” said Ellen Daly, senior vice president, events, IDG Enterprise. “The organizations and professionals judged to be winners in SNW’s Fall 2010 “Best Practices” Awards Program are the best of the best when it comes to identifying and deploying the most strategic applications for their businesses.”
